he University was ranked 524th out of 569 schools in a recent survey of top colleges by Forbes.
Released Wednesday, the rankings took into effect noteworthiness of professors, student evaluations on Ratemyprofessors.com, graduation rates and student debt.
Large public schools in general fared poorly, with the University of Wisconsin placing 335th and the University of Texas-Austin taking 215th, for example. Princeton finished in first, with the California Institute of Technology and Harvard rounding out the top three.
Forbes also ranked the top-25 public colleges, which the University did not place in. The University of Illinois, the University of Michigan and Indiana University made the top-25 among Big Ten schools. The University has stated a goal of becoming a top-three public research institution within 10 years.
